“Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.” – John Lennon

We talk about purposefulness and intentionality as if they were cardinal virtues. Certainly they have their place, but taken to the extreme that’s becoming common in our society, they suck the joy from life.

We’re losing the meaning of just hanging out with our spouses. Our grandparents knew how…they had porch swings. You don’t go anywhere, you just are.

When was the last time you shared a porch swing with your mate? Or sat on a tree stump on a walk through the woods, and listened to a birdsong, from beginning to end?

When we don’t accomplish anything, we accomplish the most important duty we have = being present in the one moment God has given us, and sharing that moment with the person who walks through life with us.
