A corollary to this one is “I keep trimming the length, and it’s still too short!”
Words are like a saw cut. If they’re poorly chosen, they can open a hole that will never be fully healed.
When you’re tempted to “teach him or her a lesson” with your words…stop. Think about it.
Once the words are out there, it’s like a cut made in a 2 x 4. you can do anything you want, but the piece can never be what it was before.
And if you make a cutting remark in your marriage, it will change, and will never grow to be that which is could have been,
